Although CFK introduces the Premier, Excel and Excel Plus programs at U11, we continue to offer recreational programs (formerly the Mods program at EOS) from the younger age groups into the high school years. We acknowledge competitive soccer may not be the best fit for all players for a variety of reasons ranging from physical abilities, time commitment issues, family conflicts, dual sport obligations, or financial concerns. The recreational program (formerly the Mods program at EOS) offers a solid opportunity for players to continue to develop their skills and compete on their team in a setting they prefer that matches their level and interest. Teams are coached by a volunteer coach under the supervision of a director for the recreational program. These teams will play 8-10 games per season. The U5-U8 age groups will play in-house games on a Friday evening, U9-U10 will play in-house games on Saturdays and the U11 and above age groups will play in the GCF League.
The U5 - U6 age groups will continue the SST program. This is an introductory program for kids that haven't played the game. A trainer will be involved in the development of these players and assisted by volunteer coaches.
U9 - U10 Teams will also have the opportunity to play in the GCF league. The recreational directors will do a proper evaluation and make a recommendation for those teams to move to a more comoetitive environment. These teams will continue with their volunteer coaches.
The recreational program will practice at various locations. We encourage the teams to practice within their community. This makes it easier for parents to commute to practice. This really encourages players to be at practice.
