CFK Soccer Club offers a unique college advisory program designed to assist CFK Players in their college recruitment process.
The CFK College Advisory Program is very important component of the club; we believe that our players deserve the opportunity to play in college. There are many colleges and universities that offer soccer with great academic social and geographic differences. This is a very individual decision and we have the tools to help you.
The program is a fully inclusive process that gives each player the right tools to maximize their options to play collegiate soccer. This will not guarantee every player a scholarship, but rather put the player in a position where he or she can see the possible alternatives and make an educated decision on what school to go to.
There are many college playing opportunities for high school graduates. Colleges and universities vary widely in size, location, and academic offerings with soccer programs that range from moderately to very competitive programs.
Steps in the process include these:
-
Preparing academically
-
Preparing athletically
-
Completing administrative applications
-
Identifying realistic college options
-
Generating contacts among these options
-
Following up on contacts
-
Making a selection and committing
Communicating with the Coach
Good communications are essential. Complete forms carefully and return them promptly. Follow up by mail and phone. Return phone calls immediately, and remember that the NCAA coach cannot usually call more than once a week. If you have a message, call back and keep calling until you get through.
For players of equal academic and athletic ability, for those who have the opportunity to create more contacts, and for those who are more diligent about communicating effectively, do better in creating great opportunities to play soccer while attending college.
Individual Player Profile Pages & Seminars
We will have an active player profile within the team page which is accessible to all college coaches. We will provide educational seminars on the college recruiting process, links to the most important recruiting information and one on one advising to suggest the best possible collegiate choices for the players.
